San Francisco's Transit System Is Not Having It With Racism, Homophobia, Transphobia

"Get your shit together."

San Francisco is known for its progressive attitudes, but signs in Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) trains are letting riders know there is zero tolerance for hateful harassment.

An image posted on the Broke-Ass Stuart Facebook page shows a poster declaring "racism, sexism, Islamophobia, homophobia, transphobia and xenophobia are prohibited in the BART system at all times."

The message ends with an edict for riders to "get your shit together."

The flyers have appeared in numerous subway cars, and sport the company's logo, but are not part of an official BART campaign.

"We don't prohibit speech; one has the right to hold hold vile views," A BART spokesperson tweeted. "However the Bay is NOT fertile ground for bigotry... Look out for one another.

BART says it is working on its own campaign to celebrate diversity—but we doubt it will be as ballsy.
