There are certain things you can count on every year during the summer movie season: comic book adaptations, a Meryl Streep vehicle in August and the annual Zac Efron thirst-a-thon.

In previous years it was Neighbors, Dirty Grandpa and now the latest entry is the remake of the '90s syndicated sensation Baywatch.

The buff actor plays Matt Brody, a brash new recruit taken on by veteran lifeguard Mitch Buchanan (Dwayne Johnson). The two butt heads on the beach before joining forces for a beautiful bromance to fight a criminal plot that threatens the future of their beach community.

In a new red-band trailer for the movie there are plenty of explosions, beach bods and bikinis, but it's an underwater kiss between Johnson and Efron that will leave you gasping for air.

In previous trailers we saw Efron don an American flag speedo, dress in drag and now he locks lips with The Rock?

Not only that but the trailer also features the two stars comparing how brave their balls are.

“Some fishy sh*t is happening on our beach and my balls say we need to go over there and check it out,” Johnson tells Efron.

“It’s a bad idea, Mitch," Efron pleads. “We’re lifeguards. My balls say, ‘You should just take it easy right here.'”
