Sexy Selfies Are The Focus In First Teaser For Gay Indie "Beach Rats"
Beach Rats was one of the most buzzed about premieres at Sundance this year, earning filmmaker Eliza Hittman a directing award at the festival.
Now the movie finally has some release info and a moody teaser trailer. If the dreamy 16mm sequence is indicative of the entire film, we can see why it was such a hit.
The followup to It Felt Like Love, Hittman’s acclaimed debut, Beach Rats sees aimless Brooklyn teen Frankie (Harris Dickinson) navigate the boundaries of his identity as he bounces between delinquent friends, a potential girlfriend and the older men he meets online.
The film, which hits theaters this fall, was just one of many LGBT highlights at this year's very queer Sundance, including Call Me By Your Name, Bayard & Me and the web series The Chances.
