Ben Affleck's Cinematic Debut: "I Killed My Lesbian Wife"

Affleck made the film four years before "Good Will Hunting."

Years before he would go on to win Academy Awards, date JLo or pal around Hollywood with his childhood BFF Matt Damon, Ben Affleck was busy working on his first film: I Killed My Lesbian Wife, Hung Her on a Meathook, and Now I Have a Three Picture Deal at Disney.

The megastar opened up about his directorial debut in a recent interview with The Guardian.

“Yeah, the title is the best thing about it,” he joked of the 1993 short film he made while studying at Occidental College. “It’s about how we sometimes forgive the lunatic behavior of artists and call it 'eccentricity.'"

"I was trying to make it as an actor and hearing stories of how ‘so and so was doing this’ or ‘that guy has this outrageous technique,'" he continued. "And I remember thinking, 'What bullshit.' Just because this guy’s on some crazy diet doesn’t make him talented. The work itself is what matters.”

While I Killed My Lesbian Wife is certainly not the last film Affleck would make featuring lesbians (Chasing Amy and Gigli, anyone?), it is without a doubt his strangest.

And luckily for us, it's available to watch online.
