The 10 Best Looks From “L Word: Gen Q” Season 1, Ranked

Blazers, jumpsuits, and button-downs, oh my!

Fam check-in: How’s everybody feeling after this Sunday’s explosive L Word: Generation Q Season 1 finale? If you’re anything like me, the only thing that rivaled your emotional hangover on Monday morning was your—er, actual hangover.

Many moments from Gen Q Season 1 will stick with us for months to come (hello, cliffhanger!), but today, we’re chatting lewks. Below, find 10 of the best ’fits from the first eight episodes of Showtime’s L Word reboot, ranked from “I love this look” to “I worship the ground Alice Pieszecki walks on.” You’re welcome. (There are spoilers. You’ve been warned!)

  1. Finley’s short-sleeved button-down (Episode 2)

    Showtime

This crisp short-sleeved number sported by Finley (Jacqueline Toboni) makes for a chic, put-together soft butch lewk—which is ironic since Finley’s entire schtick is how not-together her life is. But that’s what makes her so relatable, right?

  2. Bette’s wine blazer (Episode 1)

Bette Porter (Jennifer Beals) for Mommy Mayor, everybody!

  3. Shane’s muscle tee (Episode 2)

    GIPHY

Shane (Kate Moennig), the original L Word heartthrob, in a muscle tee. That’s it, folks. That’s the look.

  4. Megan Rapinoe’s gilded suit (Episode 3)

    GIPHY

The soccer champ, Glamour Woman of the Year, and co-captain of the U.S. Women’s National Team didn’t hold back for her kiki with Alice (Leisha Hailey) on the OG L Word star’s namesake talk show. The episode aired weeks ago, and I’m still starry-eyed over this gilded rose-gold powersuit (and Rapinoe’s badass slide-in).

  5. Sophie’s bright blue jumpsuit (Episode 3)

    Showtime

Sophie (Rosanny Zayas) sported this indigo number for a trip to church (yes, actual church) with a trauma-ridden Finley. Perhaps not the Sunday best we’d expect, no, but it is the Sunday best we deserve.

  6. Alice’s rainbow striped blouse (Episode 8)

    Showtime

Call it a cliché, sure, but I am weak for a rainbow moment, particularly when paired with a bright lip. Will femmes inherit the earth? Discuss.

  7. Alice’s yellow pouf-sleeved sweater (Episode 4)

Los Angeles’ “Queen of Queer Life” strikes again.

  8. Shane’s velvet blazer (Episode 8)

    Showtime

Look, if you’re going to receive heart-breaking (and potentially relationship-ending) news, the least you can do is look fly and dapper AF in the process. Shane been knew.

  9. Quiara’s sequined romper (Episode 4)

Remember when Shane’s ex-wife invented the dramatic entrance? No? Just me? Okay.

  10. Alice’s floral powersuit (Episode 7)

    Showtime

If looks could kill—kidding, except not at all.

The only thing hotter and more powerful than Alice’s black-and-red floral pantsuit in Episode 7 is her burning rage at that doomed-from-the-start throuple blowing up in her face.

Bonus points for the yellow backpack!
