Here's Beth Ditto Dressed as Divine to Help You Through Your Work Week

"Before punk existed, there was Divine."

Sometimes it's tough getting through the work week. Thank God there's Beth Ditto.

Superfan is a new digital series from The Face magazine in which "a contemporary icon meets the classic, like a green tea-infused four-finger Kit Kat." In the debut episode, former Gossip frontwoman Beth Ditto reveals her enduring love for Divine, the iconic drag performer who famously inspired John Waters.

"Before punk existed, there was Divine," she says.

The video shows Ditto backstage at a photo shoot, talking all things Divine and how the late Baltimore queen influenced her attitude and style.

"Who is Divine? A drag queen unlike any other," Ditto says, gushing over Pink Flamingos as she shaves off her eyebrows. Legend.

The big reveal comes at the end of the video, where Ditto walks out dressed as Divine from Pink Flamingos.

"What I've learned from Divine is that beauty is relative, and that creativity can be a lot simpler than you think," she says. "We can all learn to embrace the weird parts of ourselves but also the beautiful parts. Everybody I know loves Divine."
