Bette Midler's covering a bunch of girl-group hits in her upcoming album, It's the Girls, but it was the announcement that TLC's "Waterfalls" would be one of those songs that got us all worked up.

That song was our jam back in the day. Seriously, this was us for most of junior-high school:

So how does Bette do with hip-hop's greatest trinity?

Well, the emotion is there but she slows everything down to a warble and strips out most of the soul. As our friends at He Said described it, "this just sounds like our grandma warbling to Top 40 in the kitchen while stirring spaghetti sauce."

Of course they said it like a criticism. We happen to love our Nona and would want nothing more than to hear her cover "Creep."
