Bette Midler Resurrects Her “Hocus Pocus” Character For Halloween Party

“Why was I cursed with such idiot sisters?!?”

Hocus Pocus has become a cult favorite in recent years, but Bette Midler pretty much won this Halloween by dressing up as her character, Winifred Sanderson, at her annual Hulaween party benefiting the New York Restoration Project.

The bash, held at the Waldorf=Astoria Friday night, was also attended by Sandra Bernhard, Judy Gold, Kathy Griffin, Marc Jacob and Midler’s daughter, Sophie Von Haselberg.

Midler starred in the 1993 Disney film alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy.

Since then, the film has gained cult status, with countless YouTube tributes, drag queen performances and even an unauthorized stage musical in L.A.

But none can measure up to the original.

Don’t let the makeup and padding fool you, Midler is looking fighting trim these days as she readies for her return to Broadway in a highly anticipated revival of Hello Dolly.
