Bette Midler Wants A "Hocus Pocus" Sequel, Too

Bette Midler is getting ready to go on tour for the first time in a decade to promote her new covers album, It's the Girls. She sat down with PrideSource to chat about the album, her role as an early gay ally and her view of where pop culture is today.

But most importantly, she dished on Hocus Pocus! "Honestly, I cannot believe what happened with Hocus Pocus," she confided "I'm just dumbfounded by the number of people who mention  Hocus Pocus  and they're young people!"

And what of the possibility of a sequel? "Oh yeah. The girls and I have talked about it," Midler reveals. "And we all laugh and say, "Yeah, we'll wait for that phone call." But sure, we would all do it. We had a wonderful time."

If you really want to see the Sanderson sisters again, the Divine Miss M suggests taking it up with Mickey. "I tell them all you must write the Walt Disney Company because I don't have anything to say about it— but they do!"

Bette's co-star, Kathy Najimy, told Buzzfeed she's itching to get back on her broom, too.

"The outpouring of love from Hocus-ites has been astounding. The creativity of their Sanderson sisters costumes, posters, artwork, t-shirts, statues, TV stills, photos, compliments and line quotes have blown up social media and I want them to know we see and appreciate it all," she said. "When a film is being shot, you never quite know the impact.. If it’ll be a hit or a miss, and with this one … we hear y’all loud and clear!

A sequel is totally in The Disney Company’s hands and it will be exciting to see what transpires!”
