Beyoncé Being Eyed To Play Glinda In NBC's "The Wiz LIVE"
Beyoncé is reportedly being vetted by NBC to join the cast of December's "The Wiz LIVE" as Glinda the Good Witch.
Other A-listers have already been locked in including Queen Latifah as the titular Wiz, Mary J. Blige as Evillene, the Wicked Witch of the West, and original Broadway Dorothy Stephanie Mills as Auntie Em. (Excuse us as we wipe a tear.)
Other stars being considered for the role of Glinda include Orange Is the New Black's Uzo Aduba.
NBC is hoping for a refresher after their latest effort, 2014's Peter Pan Live!, failed to generate the buzz of 2013's breakout hit The Sound of Music Live!.
The musical is no stranger to mega-star casting; the 1978 film featured Diana Ross as Dorothy, Michael Jackson as Scarecrow and comedy legend Richard Prior as The Wiz.
