Beyoncé Honors Prince With Stunning Cover Of "The Beautiful Ones"

"Do you want her/Or do you want me?/'Cause I want you."

Beyoncé paid tribute to Prince last night at the Dallas stop of her Formation World Tour, delivering a jaw-dropping cover of "The Beautiful Ones" from the Purple Rain soundtrack.

This marks the third time Bey has performed the song: She previously covered it in 2011 for her "I Am... Yours" show in Vegas and again that same year at Glastonbury. "Do you want her/Or do you want me?/'Cause I want you," Bey belted to the crowd, making a strong case for the cover's inclusion amongst the songs from Lemonade.

She previously payed tribute to the late icon at the tour's opening show, when the original "Purple Rain" was played while the stage turned purple with various lighting effects. Prince was well-known to be fond of Beyoncé, going as far to include her in his list of ten favorite artists in Entertainment Weekly.

"I ain't mad at anything she does. Anything." he declared. "Those are great songs."

The two performed together at the 2004 Grammys, with a mashup of "Crazy in Love" and various songs from Purple Rain.

However untimely his passing may have been, it's great to see that Prince's impact continues to be felt throughout the industry.
