President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney had their first presidential debate tonight and it was so exciting, everybody ended up talking about Big Bird.
Yes. The big yellow bird from Sesame Street stole the show tonight. He caused a stir on Twitter garnering 17,000 Tweets per minute and two new accounts, with a combined following of 30,000 users only an hour after the debates ended. Oh, he also got fired.
“I’m sorry Jim. I’m gonna stop the subsidy to PBS. I’m gonna stop other things,” Romney said when talking about what he would cut from the budget. “I like PBS, I like Big Bird, I actually like you too.”
Well at least we finally got a specific plan for Romney if he becomes POTUS! But what does this mean for our feathered friend? Will Sesame Street be overrun with unemployed, homeless people? Will Paul Ryan address what to do with Oscar the Grouch in the VP debates?
We aren’t even going to ask about what would happen to Bert and Ernie in a Romney/Ryan administration.
