Refashion Book is a semiannual publication from Canadian fashion photographer and editor Lanaya Flavelle that explores a different theme or cause in each issue. There are no articles (what? We read!) but photographers submit images based on their personal interpretations of the theme.

We recently came across the December 2015 issue, Refashion Beauty, which celebrates body positivity. And with Fashion Week underway it seemed like perfect time to spotlight Flavelle's interest in expanding our notions of beauty.

"I made a promise to myself that I would be more body positive in my work," she writes in the intro to Refashion Beauty. "Slowly but surely I started to chose models who were different. Women who were not airbrushed. Women who were strong, confident—unconventionally beautiful."

"Magazines have always been norotoious for portraying unfair and unrealistic ideals of beauty," she adds, "but i know that mine would never be that way."
