Bigoted Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis Gave A Marriage License To A Trans Man

"She saw just a straight couple in love."

A trans man has just stepped forward with paperwork showing he and his wife had been granted a marriage license by the office of Kim Davis, the infamous Rowan County clerk who has continually refused to issue marriage licenses to gay partners.

Camryn Colen and his wife Alexis said that it was another county staffer that issued the license, but that Davis is allegedly the one who said she didn't need to see Colen's birth certificate, which still identifies him as female.

“She saw just a straight couple in love, and she should see everybody like that,” Colen said. “She shouldn’t just see straight couples like that.”

The Colens, who were issued the license back in February, said they wanted to step forward when Davis first began refusing licenses back in June, but they were concerned about the safety of their 6-month-old daughter.

But now, they stepped forward after deciding that the fight for an equal world for their daughter was more important.

"Stuff has just escalated and gotten ridiculous, and we decided that we were going to come forward with it," Alexis Colen said.

Camryn decided to transition back in 2010, and he says he has received "massive" support from the community.
