Billboard Of Trump Kissing Ted Cruz Goes Up Right Near GOP Convention

Republicans are in for a big surprise.

A progressive non-profit is calling out the GOP's anti-LGBT agenda with a huge billboard depicting Donald Trump kissing Ted Cruz.

Sponsoring by Planting Peace, the billboard depicts the conservative politicians smooching next to the phrase "Love Trumps Hate. End Homophobia." It's been erected not five minutes from Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena, where the GOP will be gathering next week for the Republican National Convention.

Aaron Jackson, President of Planting Peace, believes its the perfect response to the pointed hate the GOP sends to marginalized groups.

“What Donald, Ted and the Republican party either fail to realize, or realize and just don’t seem to care about, is that their words and actions toward our LGBT family―especially LGBT children―have meaning and impact,” Jackson told The Huffington Post.

“LGBT children hear these messages telling them they are nothing but second class citizens and are left feeling broken or ‘less than.’”

A draft of the 2016 GOP platform was released this week, and many are calling it the most homophobic and transphobic in the party's history. In addition to opposing marriage equality, the platform supports anti-trans bathroom measures and conversion therapy.

“Planting Peace calls for the immediate change in the Republican party platform with regard to our LGBT family and LGBT rights," Jackson continued. He added that "never again" will "hateful messages be uttered in the name of religious freedom."

In the past, Planting Peace has spread their message of acceptance through billboards opposing anti-gay legislation in Mississippi and North Carolina and the pair of houses across the street from the Westboro Baptist Church, which promote LGBT and Trans equality.

The Republican National Convention is scheduled to run from July 18 to 21.
