As NewNowNext reported last week, the Tony-winning actor was in talks to join the project, which will be produced by James Corden and Leo Pearlman. (Cabello, a Fifth Harmony alum whose pop hits like “Havana” and “Senorita” have topped the charts, is also on board to help write the score, and her Cuban and Mexican roots are expected to play a part in the adaptation’s modern storyline.)
Porter is also allegedly being eyed to voice Audrey II, a man-eating plant, in Warner Bros. in-progress Little Shop of Horrors musical remake, helmed by Love, Simon director Greg Berlanti.
The 50-year-old actor—who recently won his first Primetime Emmy for his portrayal of Pray Tell in the critically acclaimed FX series—also dropped another tantalizing tidbit: He signed a book deal to pen his memoir.
Oh—that’s in addition to him emceeing a spoof of HRC and CNN’s LGBTQ Town Hall on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live. And we bibbidi-bobbidi oop!
