Bob the Drag Queen is fulfilling her duty as a self-proclaimed “queen for the people” with the announcement of Charity 4 the People, a fundraising initiative that plans to raise $100,000 for charity over the next year.
The RuPaul’s Drag Race season 8 contender announced the initiative on Instagram, saying she’ll be auctioning off Drag Race memorabilia featured in each episode weekly as new episodes air. Fans can pick up the swag via Bob’s eBay page to benefit the cause.
As everyone knows, I'm a queen for the people! I have always wanted to do work for the greater cause and now you can all help me on this journey. Tomorrow my new cause, Charity 4 the People, will go live on eBay. Throughout the season of @rupaulsdragrace we will be auctioning memorabilia from that week's episode! Our goal is to donate over $100,000 by this time next year through different charity events…it's time for us to step our giving up! Stay tuned tomorrow for the official announcement with links to the auction page. May the highest bidder WIN! “Our goal is to donate over $100,000 by this time next year through different charity events…it’s time for us to step our giving up!” the queen wrote on Instagram.
Items up for bid now include the amazing Britney Spears Toxic-esque bodysuit Bob wore during the maxi challenge in last week’s “RuCo’s Empire” episode, as well as the white fur coat that went over it. Both will set you back a cool $360.
Get Out magazine reports Charity 4 the People will also include scheduled events on a national scale. Though the dates of the tour still need to be worked out, Bob already hosted a charity night at Industry in New York City last week that raised over $1,000 toward her $100,000 goal.
The Charity 4 the People tour plans to benefit many causes. So far, the first two looks sold at auction raised a cool $700 for Cyndi Lauper’s True Colors Fund for homeless LGBT youth.
In a deleted bonus clip from this week’s episode, Bob tells the girls about a sex dream she had about Robbie Turner —
— Kim Chi was also apparently in the dream, watching the Bob/Robbie fantasy unfold from the sidelines ?.
Kim Chi joined Bob at an event in New York City this week, where they posed for photos alongside the similarly un-dragged season 7 finalist Pearl. Check out the exclusive photos by the talented Santiago Felipe below:
