Bob The Drag Queen Calls For Reform After Mom Becomes Victim Of Gun Violence

"My mother was shot. The bullet hit her right between the eyes."

Bob the Drag Queen revealed yesterday that her mother had been the victim of gun violence on Sunday night, when a man trying to shoot somebody else accidentally struck her as she sat in her car at a red light.

"Gun violence had never been this close to me," the RuPaul's Drag Race season 8 winner wrote on Facebook. "This is where I am from."

Fox 5 reported the stray bullet "traveled an entire block" before hitting Bob's mother, and another had hit an empty Marta bus nearby.

To make matters even worse, Bob said that his nephew was also in the car at the time, and "had to witness his grandmother covered in blood."

Bob said his mother is "fine," but the terrifying situation has inspired him to campaign for gun reform.

"GA is an open carry state," said Bob.

"This gun may have been obtained legally. Because of lax gun laws my mother was shot. The bullet hit her right between the eyes, and it's a miracle that she's not only alive, but able to go home after a few stitches. WE NEED TO REFORM GUN LAWS. This could have been you, or worse this could have been your mother."

The post generated an influx of thoughts and prayers for Bob's mom, which she responded to today on Twitter.

Wrote Bob: "My mom wants to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and energy. ?"
