Bodybuilder Pleads Not Guilty After Stabbing Gay Roommate 16 Times

Geoffrey Tracy, a New York stripper, says the older man "tried to make moves" on him.

Geoffrey Tracy, a 25-year-old personal trainer and fitness model, has admitted in court to stabbing 50-year-old roommate Gregory Kanczes 16 times after the older man “tried to make moves” on him.

Tracy pleaded not guilty this week to second-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault, rejecting a plea deal of 20 years in prison, the NY Post reports.

The stabbing occurred last month days after Tracy moved to New York from California. A gay strip club owner had flown out the competitive bodybuilder and arranged for him to crash at Kanczes’ Hell’s Kitchen apartment.

"The guy tried to make moves on me," Tracy told police. "I told him no, then he said he’d shoot me so I had to defend myself. I had a knife to him, he went for the gun. I filmed myself on my iPhone saying I didn’t want to kill him. He had a gun. I had to kill him."

Tracy later admitted that he "didn’t see a gun."

Tracy also claims Kanczes tried to block him from leaving the apartment. After the stabbing, Tracy “took a vape of THC” and tossed the knife in a dumpster.

Kanczes, who was stabbed in the neck, chest, and shoulder, survived the assault.

"He’s so muscular and Greg’s not," Kanczes' ex-boyfriend tells the Post. "You could have thrown him and ran out the door. You don’t stab somebody.”

Tracy's attorney, Thomas Kenniff, says Tracy used his phone to "record an erratic individual who had been scribbling incoherent ramblings on the walls of his own apartment, subjecting my client to unwanted touching, and was now threatening him with a gun if he attempted to extricate himself from his hellish surroundings,” the NY Daily News reports.

Tracy is currently free on a $500,000 bond.
