The "Bohemian Rhapsody" Trailer Is Here To Rock You

Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?

Start stomping your feet because the first trailer for the upcoming Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, has finally dropped.

The preview features Malek and the rest of Queen performing concerts for their adoring fans, and recording the song "Bohemian Rhapsody"—there is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment showing Mercury getting close with another man, but his death from AIDS is not mentioned in the new trailer.

The film has already had its share of controversy since back in December when it was reported that with two weeks of principal photography left, director Bryan Singer was fired from the project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, and sources associated with filming, it was Singer’s constant absence and unreliability during production that led to Malek complaining to the studio, “charging Singer with not being present on set, unreliability and unprofessionalism.”

Tom Hollander, who plays Queen manager Jim Beach, is also reported to have quit the film for a short period of time because of Singer’s behavior, but Hollander eventually returned to his role.

Singer’s constant absence even resulted in the film’s cinematographer, Thomas Newton Sigel, to step in as director for multiple days when Singer didn’t show.

When the out X-Men director eventually returned to set, there was tension between him and Malek, leading to a fight between the two men.

“While it did not become physical between the two, it did involve Singer throwing an object.” It was reported the two settled their differences, and filming was set to resume—that was until Singer fired.

Things got so bad on set that another source on the film revealed that Singer claims he is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder “because of the tensions on the set.”

Audiences will finally be able to see the finished product when Bohemian Rhapsody hits theaters November 2.
