Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. Hurls Homophobic Slur At Rival Conor McGregor

Typical trash talk turned ugly at a London press event.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. called boxing opponent Conor McGregor a "faggot" Friday night during a controversial London press conference, the Independent reports.

Mayweather, 40, is being criticized for using homophobic language to taunt McGregor, 29, and taking testosterone-fueled trash talk to offensive and unnecessary depths.

"Yeah, we gonna talk about this pussy," the undefeated Mayweather said during his tirade against the hunky UFC lightweight champ. "You punk, you faggot, you ho."

Following previous media events in Los Angeles, Toronto, and New York, the pair made their final appearance at London's Wembley Arena to promote their highly anticipated boxing match August 26 in Las Vegas.

Mayweather's anti-gay and misogynist insults come as a surprise considering he had just spoken out against McGregor's racially insensitive language at Thursday's New York press conference, during which McGregor repeatedly referred to Mayweather as "boy."

“I don’t care if it’s white women, black women, white men, black men, Asian, Latina or Latino, you don’t disrespect people,” Mayweather said. “To get respect, you must give respect.”

Just last year Mayweather publicly condemned former rival Manny Pacquiao’s homophobic comments with a message of positivity. “We should let people live their lives the way they want to live their lives,” he told TMZ Sports. “I don’t have nothing against anyone. To each his own.”

The boxing legend first expressed his support of LGBT rights in 2012, tweeting support for Barack Obama’s mission to advance marriage equality. “I’m an American citizen & believe people should live their life the way they want,” he wrote.
