  • Birthday shoutouts go to Natalie Cole, who is 63, Kathy Najimy, who is 56, and Rick Astley is 47.
  • In ratings news, Smash returned last night, and well … maybe it’ll be on one of my “gone too soon” TV lists someday.
  • ABC Family has picked up the Jennifer Lopez produced series The Fosters, about a multi-ethnic family with two moms.
  • The Boy Scouts have decided that the gay issue has too much “complexity” to decide anything right now.
  • Below you can see Tyler Posey in a clip from tonight’s Workaholics on Comedy Central. His language at the end is bleeped out … but you can tell what’s he saying. Potty Mouth.

  • Monopoly fans have spoken. Gone is The Iron token, and in is … THE CAT! Hey Ed … wanna play? BWA-HA-HA!

  • Below you can see the Guy Ritchie-directed short film starring David Beckham and his wet briefs.

  • Marc Jacobs for Diet Coke. Seriously.

  • Below you can see the NSFW! Episode Two of Season Two of Old Dogs & New Tricks, with special guest Thom Bierdz … as we’ve never seen him before..

  • Yesterday I asked you to vote on what the next Briefs 80’s countdown should be, and 38% of you decided on … THE TOP 50 MOVIE SONGS! As you know, I’m a stickler for rules, and the only rule I set for myself with this countdown is that all of the songs had to have charted on the Billboard HOT 100. So you’ll be seeing the huge soundtrack hits, of course, but also some lesser hits, and a few oddities.
  • Let’s kick things off with a song that spent three weeks at #1, and is one of the biggest soundtrack hits of the 80’s … but only manages to come in at #50. “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins.

  • “Footloose” debuted on the chart on January 28th, 1984, and hit #1 on March 31st, where it spent three weeks. It completely redefined the career of Kenny Loggins, but frankly, I don’t think it’s the best song on the Footloose soundtrack (I’d put in fifth place on that album), and it’s not even the best Kenny Loggins soundtrack song (which you’ll see later). But there’s no denying the impact it had, and it did bring us two classic pop culture moments, because of the IMPENETRABLE LYRICS, and because it taught us that certain people SHOULD NOT QUIT THEIR DAY JOBS. Tomorrow’s clue – “Is my body heat the right intensity?”

  • Congrats to
