Briefs: SCOTUS Reactions, Gays On Parade, and “Independence Day 2” Will Have A Gay Character

Birthday shoutouts go to Patty Smyth, who is 56, Terri Nunn is 52, and Sean Hayes is 43.

Today, of course, was all about SCOTUS. First, let’s take a look at the good.

Edie Windsor, the reason why this happened, gets the first response.

Prop 8 plaintiffs Kris Perry and Sandy Stier, and HRC President Chad Griffin chat with Thomas Roberts when they get a very special phone call on air.

Act.Mtv has some great pics and vids of the day’s events.

On the other hand …. Bwa-Ha-Ha! The Drama Queens are falling apart.

But the funniest reaction came from the biggest drama queen, who I think popped a blood vessel.

We all have to accept the bad with the good, however, and while there was history in the making in the U.S today, TRAGEDY OCCURRED IN ENGLAND. (spoilers for tennis fans!)

Out director Roland Emmerich has revealed that there will be a gay character in the upcoming Independence Day 2. Roland has always been brilliant at action set pieces (and destroying the world), but actual … characters have never been his strong suit.

Behind the scenes at NYC Pride.

And here’s The Weekly ShoutOUT™. Each week we’re going to focus on one out athlete/performer and feature a daily pic and career timeline. We’ll be showcasing the big names, but also the lesser-known gay celebs who deserve more recognition. This week we give a ShoutOUT to … Andrew Rannells. Andrew was in the First National Tour of Jersey Boys, and in 2009, he reprised his role in the musical’s Broadway production.

Now we have THE TOP 50 HOTTEST HUNKS OF THE 80’S! Please keep in mind that this countdown encompasses the whole of 80’s pop culture, from TV to Movies to Music, to miscellaneous. In other words … some of your favorites might not show up, because there’s just not enough room. But just consider this a sampling of some of the hot guys the 80’s had to offer!

AND NOW THE TOP TEN HOTTEST HUNKS OF THE 80’S! At #4 is … Sam J. Jones. 58-year-old Sam has been in countless B movies and TV guest shots over the last thirty years, but he’s most famous for two things: The title role in the beloved 80’s classic Flash Gordon, and for his Playgirl spread, which he did in 1975 under a different name, but the magazine republished after he became famous. Those pics (which you can easily Google) are the stuff that … certain dreams are made of.

Congrats to JohnEd, who was the first to correctly guess that yesterday’s Pixuzzle™ © ® was That Girl.

Here’s today’s Pixuzzle™ © ®. Here are characters from a famous TV show. Can you name it?
