Briefs: "True Blood" Sets Staking Date, Michelle Williams Is Sally Bowles, and Celine Is Back!

Birthday shoutouts go to Garrett Hedlund (above), who is 29, and Nick Wechsler is 35.

French actor Alain Delon is no fan of gay couples adopting “Yes, it is against nature, I’m sorry. We are here to love a woman, to woo a woman, not to flirt with or get picked up by guys.” Hmm ... if my Hollywood gossip history is correct, Alain had a child with Nico, denied paternity ... even while his mother raised the child.

As expected, HBO has announced that Season Seven of True Blood will be the last. The final 10-episode season will air next summer.

Rest In Peace, U.S. Open.

And here's The Weekly ShoutOUT™. Each week we're going to focus on one out athlete/performer and feature a daily pic and career timeline. We'll be showcasing the big names, but also the lesser-known gay celebs who deserve more recognition. This week we give a ShoutOUT to ... John Benjamin Hickey.

50-year-old John played small roles in films and TV until he hit it big with the Broadway version and then the film version of Terrence McNally's Tony winning Love! Valour! Compassion!

And now we have the 50 GREATEST LOST HITS OF THE 90'S! I've often ragged on the pop music of the 90's for being an arid desert devoid of fun, but there were bright spots, including these 50 songs, which should have performed better on the charts. Like The 100 Greatest Lost Hits Of The 80's countdown, this list is very female-centric (what can I say, I like rock chicks), but hopefully, some of these pop gems may trigger a long dormant memory.

At #50 is ... "Only Love (The Ballad Of Sleeping Beauty)" by Sophie B. Hawkins. My ardor for Sophie cooled a bit when she aligned herself with GOProud, but I eventually chalked it up to her kookiness. She hit the top ten twice in the 90's, with "Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover," and "As I Lay Me Down," and I think her 1996 release "Only Love" should have scored bigger, but it floundered on the Billboard Hot 100 at #49. She's playing the xylophone, people. Xylophone.
