British Couple Kicked Out Of Bar For Kissing On Birthday

Dylan Morris and boyfriend Darren Barnett were at the St. Levan Inn in Devonport, celebrating Morris' 20th birthday. "We were there for a few hours and everyone was having a great time when Dylan and I shared a kiss at the bar," said Barnett, who like Morris, is in law school.

That's when the landlord, Paul Bodenham, shouted "If you two want to continue doing that kind of stuff get out my bar"

According to Barnett, 22, "the whole pub went quiet and we asked him what he meant. Bodenham reportedly said he didn't like "that kind of behavior," calling it "revolting."

"We were really taken aback by the kind of language he was using," says Barnett. "even the barman looked quite shocked."

To make matters worse, the couple where there with Morris' family. "They were really angry—it was a very stressful situation," says Barnett, who reported the pub to the Plymouth City Council.

Bodenham, 66, insists the problem was Barnett and Morris were French kissing, not that they were two men, and that he'd have done the same to a heterosexual couple.

"There was a complaint from one of my customers. So I said to them, 'if you want to do that again, do it outside," he told the Daily Mail. "But I did not throw them out—I just told them to go outside if they wanted to act in that manner.
