UK Teen Sissies That Walk, Does Drag Lip Sync To "I Will Survive," On Last Day Of School

Over 280 students signed a petition to allow Philipp Penning to perform in drag.

The last day of school always felt like the biggest party of the year, but a British teen took the celebration to the next level by performing in front of his classmates in drag at his school's recent Leavers Assembly.

Philipp Penning donned a red dress, pair of black heels and a curly black wig to perform "I Will Survive" for his peers at Charlton School in Shropshire recently, but the act almost wasn't allowed to happen.

The 16-year-old said he first got the idea for the show after playing Edna in his school's production of Hairspray, but his request to perform in drag at the assembly was originally denied by teachers, with one even calling it "unrespectable."

But when the student body garnered 283 signatures on a petition in under 24 hours that urged school staff to change their minds, the principal decided to let Penning go on with the show.

It warms our hearts to hear the crowd continuously erupting in cheers throughout the teen's performance, which finishes with him proudly declaring, "I would like to point out that I'm probably the gayest thing to ever come from Charlton School!"
