Britney Drops New Song "Make Me," Paving The Way For #B9

#B9 IS COMING.

An intense week of new music teases from Britney Spears ended tonight with the release of "Make Me...", the first song to drop from her hotly anticipated upcoming ninth studio album.

The pop icon low-key announced the new song, featuring rapper G-Eazy, in a tweet just before midnight:

Clips from the hot new video for "Make Me…" began leaking online earlier this week but Team Brit diverted attention away from the mess by dropping parts of another new song, "Private Show," in a new commercial for her fragrance by the same name.

Last week, G-Eazy talked "Make Me..." with an Australian radio station and predicted fans would "eat it up."

“I was like ‘holy sit,’" he said of hearing the finished product for the first time. "I listened to it I was like ‘shit!’"

And according to co-writer Justin Tranter, Britney had a heavy hand in producing the track herself.

"Nobody ever talks about Britney as a writer and she’s fucking great, like insane,” he said.

"Her concepts were bold and smart and very left of centre, in a good way,” he said. “Melodically, she has melodies for days. How come no one mentions that this girl can write the fuck out of a song?"

Britney's longtime manager Larry Rudolph described the new album, dubbed #B9 by fans, as different from her previous. "This is almost like a Britney meets The Weeknd," he said.

"It’s a little melodic, a little more not so poppy," Britney added. “It’s kind of chill. Very chill."

So far, #B9 is delivering.

Breathe Heavy reports:

“Make Me” is bouncy, breathy and sexy – everything we know and love Britney Spears to embody in her music. Typically she hands over a booty shaking club tune, but this time around is different. This time around, Britney’s pushing herself to deliver her greatest release yet.

Check out the new song on iTunes and sit tight for that inevitable music video drop!

The song has yet to receive a proper review, but if we're taking the fans' word for it, "Make Me" is an excellent sign of what's to come:
