Britney Spears Pens Handwritten Love Letter To LGBT Fans

"I have a secret to share with you."

It's a letter from Britney, bitch.

In honor of Pride month, Britney Spears has penned a heartfelt handwritten letter to her LGBT fans as part of Billboard's 30 Days of Pride celebration, for which a variety of performers and pop culture luminaries were asked to write open "love letters" to the LGBT community.

Billboard

This is my letter of love to all my LGBTQ fans. Continuously throughout my career, you've always been so vocal about what a positive impact I've had on you—that I've instilled joy, hope and love in you at times when there was none. That my music is an inspiration. That my story gives you hope.

But I have a secret to share with you. You see, it's actually you that lifts me up. The unwavering loyalty. the lack of judgment. The unapologetic truth. Acceptance! Your stories are what inspire me, bring me joy and make me and my sons strive to be better people.

I love you.

Last year, in response to a GLAAD study that showed rising acceptance of LGBT people among the non-LGBT population, Spears tweeted her support, adding, “We still have A LOT of work to do to achieve social change.”

Billboard

Spears may've gone the extra mile with pen, paper, and photo proof, but straight and LGBT artists like Celine Dion, Elton John, Adam Lambert, Idina Menzel, Liza Minnelli, and Barbra Streisand—not to mention squirrel friends RuPaul and Michelle Visage—also took time to pay tribute to the LGBT community.

Not famous? Billboard invites everybody to share a love letter to the LGBT community using the hashtag #30DaysPride on social media.
