Britney Spears Puts New Album On Back Burner To Focus On Singles (For Now)

In what will surely become the most underwhelming and disappointing news of the century, Britney Spears and her longtime manager Larry Rudolph announced the pop goddess is not considering working on a new album anytime soon.

Instead, Spears will focus mainly on producing hot singles. Next on her list, a duet with Iggy Azalea, a singer who uses Twitter to attack the young employees at her local pizza establishment.

As the nation wept, Spears explained to Billboard magazine that she's not fully focused on producing an album right now because she's enjoying the whole mom thing:

"I'm gonna do [a new album] slowly but surely," Spears tells Billboard for the latest cover story, out Friday, March 13. "There's a lot going on with my kids and schools and, you know, adding new sports and stuff like that. I'm gonna try to do my best to do an amazing album, but it's not my full priority right now." The mother of sons Sean Preston, 9, and Jayden James, 8, then added with a laugh, "Kids can drive you crazy."

Spears will continue slaying her residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas while she moves a full-length album to the back burner.

"Right now we're just concentrating on putting out a few great singles as they come," Rudolph said. "We're not really talking seriously about a new album yet. Albums just aren't as important in the digital age as they usedt o be. Britney will get to one eventually, but not right now."

Just leave us alone, please. We're FINE.
