Britney Spears Reflects on 20th Anniversary of “…Baby One More Time”

Where did the time go?

It’s been nearly two decades since Britney Spears released her debut single, “…Baby One More Time.” Looking back at the number-one hit that catapulted the former Mousekeeter into superstardom, the pop star says “it was a bit of a blur.”

“Wow, that went quick,” Spears told the Guardian of the past 20 years. “I knew it was a great song. It was different and I loved it, [but] I don’t think you can anticipate how a song is going to be received.”

Spears also praised Swedish hitmaker and frequent collaborator Max Martin for penning the pop classic.

“I think Max is a genius. It all just came together and felt right. In my opinion, Max is the greatest songwriter of all time.”

Spears is currently touring the U.S. on her “Piece of Me” tour. And Max Martin is apparently auditioning performers for a musical featuring many of his hits in London. It looks like things worked out for these two.
