Embracing the principle that a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down, classically trained duo Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley perform rock and pop music in their underwear as The Skivvies, amassing a rather large (and titillated) fanbase.
On Monday night, the Skivvies were joined at New York’s 54 Below by Nick Adams, star of Broadway’s Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
Adams, who ripped off a trenchcoat and sang Icona Pop’s “I Don’t Care” in his BVDs, is no stranger to performing nearly nude—he’s left mouths agape at Broadway Bares, the annual charity burlesque revue that sees chorus boys and girls singing their hearts out in little more than tassels and g-strings.
If this kind of thing had been around when we were kids, we’d be playing the violin like Yo-Yo Ma.
