Brooklyn Bakery Shows Its Pride With Rainbow Bagels

"It's like eating cake for breakfast. Who doesn't want that?"

Some food is almost too pretty to eat, but a Brooklyn bagel shop has a culinary creation that has us beaming with gay pride: The rainbow bagel at the Bagel Store in Williamsburg is like a Pride parade you can put in the toaster.

The store's been making the multicolored treats for two decades, but they became a virtual sensation thanks to this video by Insider Food.

Watching the bakers make the bagels is mesmerizing—it looks like a Play-Doh fun factory. Especially when you learn they top these delights with cream cheese mixed with Funfetti.

Now, they rainbow bagels are pricey—they $3.95 each—but that's because it takes the same amount of time to make just 100 of them as it does 1,000 regular bagels, thanks to all the dying and layering.

Bagel Store owner Scot Rossillo, who's also made colorful bagels for Valentine's Day and the Fourth of July, says "a tremendous amount of discipline is required to make the world's most beautiful bagel."

Eating one, thankfully, takes no will power at all.
