Bulgari makes fine Italian jewelry. Also leather and perfume. You know that (and if you didn’t, now you do). But did you know they also make hotels that are as luxurious as their bodily accoutrements? Just last month they opened only their third just such property in London’s exclusive neighborhood of Knightsbridge (their other locations are in Milan and Bali) called the Bulgari Hotel and Residences. Residences. Try not to hate.
Their London property shines, and that’s not just because its inspired by silver. Yes, silver, quite possibly making them the only ones who are satisfied ignoring that gold color in London this summer.
The 85 rooms and suites feature the luxurious detailing that’s made Bulgari the kind of internationally loved design house, such as custom made silk curtains with patterns inspired by some of the classic Bulgari jewelry, and bed side table lamps inspired by a pair of silver Bulgari candlesticks.
There’s a fab bar called Il Bar that’s got a sweeping silver staircase guiding you directly down to Il Ristorante, where you’ll find some rather opulent Italian wine and food. There’s also a 47 seat movie theater with surround sound.
And before you start to feel that its all too gluttonous, we’ll let you know that the hotel also has some cool eco-friendly aspects such as a green roof, electric car charing posts, intelligent lighting and uses earth-friendly Geothermal energy.
Green and silver. The Olympics can keep their gold.
