Burt Reynolds Reaches Peak Ignorance, Says Charlie Sheen “Deserves” HIV

The irrelevant actor is struggling to boost his new book sales.

Burt Reynolds, a man who believes a woman’s purpose is to do laundry for her husband, managed to pull himself out of irrelevancy for the first time in decades Tuesday by issuing a disgusting and aggressive statement regarding Charlie Sheen’s recent disclosure that he is HIV-positive.

The 79-year-old actor appeared on the UK talk show Loose Women to promote his new book, which must not be too interesting since the panel chose to talk about Charlie Sheen instead.

“His father [Martin Sheen] is a very, very decent man and a dear friend of mine,” he said. “I feel bad for him but Charlie—I don’t feel bad for him.”

“He’s getting what he deserves. If you’re going to misbehave like that, they’re going to get you…He misbehaved badly. Very badly. But you know, when you’re that age, it’s tough. All those things are coming at you and it’s difficult.”

His ignorant comments likening HIV to a punishment for behaving badly echo those of other ignorant celebrities like Jenny McCarthy, Candace Cameron-Bure and Raven-Symoné, who also recently made headlines for shaming Sheen and Danny Pintauro, the former Who’s the Boss star who also recently came out as HIV-positive.

Thankfully, their comments were all universally denounced by the public on social media.
