The Object of My Affection… I mean, he was in that movie, ok?

That’s Paul Rudd posing in Rolling Stone’s current “Hot Issue.” Ummm… Yes indeed. (Via Towleroad.)

Condi Rice swears in the new gay AIDS coordinator, Mark Dybul; congratulates his male partner; refers to partner’s mom as Dybul’s “mother-in-law.” How nice… But what does it all mean? Do the Repubs acknowledge gay relationships now in marital terms? Is this some post-Foley scandal olive branch? USA Today takes a look.

And back to showbiz…

It’s all the best lesbian news ever involving Running With Scissors star (she’s got a lesbian smooch in the film) Kristin Chenoweth, Kristen Bell, Cynthia Nixon and those Real World Denver gals macking in the hot tub. Hooray from Friday and AfterEllen!

AfterElton’s got an interview with super-appealing Brit actor Dan Stevens, who takes on the lead gay role in the sumptuous and superlative British TV-adaptation of Alan Hollinghurst’s best-seller The Line of Beauty. This three-part mini-series debuts on Logo this Sunday at 10pm.

Here’s a quote from Stevens about how stoked was to be cast in the film, which is critical of Margaret Thatcher-era, conservative England:

“…The Line of Beauty — I knew we were on to a good thing. Saul Dibb’s a fantastic director, and it was a brilliant adaptation of a wonderful book. And yet I knew that readers of [conservative British newspaper] The Daily Mail weren’t going to like it — and that delighted me even more, I think.”

Low-rent hipster zombie youngsters gone wild!

I’ve blogged before about the fun/cutesy/rambunctuous/tap-dancing pop of Omaha’s Tilly and the Wall. I know they’ve got a queer band member or two, and a more festive bunch of young musicmakers you’d be hard-pressed to find. Check out their delightfully low-rent and upbeat new video here. It’s got Halloweeny hipster zombies prancing around fields and parking lots. A nice way to begin your fall weekend, no?
