Caitlyn Jenner Shows Her Republican Side, Friends School Her, In "I Am Cait" Clip

One of the more shocking reveals during Caitlyn Jenner's interview with Diane Sawyer earlier this year was learning the former Olympian is a Republican.

And now a new clip from I Am Cait is reminding us that conservative view points are not as commonly found in the LGBT community, leaving Caitlyn with a few things to learn.

In a scene from tonight's episode, Jenner's friends are teaching her that homelessness and unemployment are two of the biggest problems that members of the trans community often face.

When one friend suggested focusing on entry-level jobs, “so that these girls have some alternative if they wanted," Jenner's conservative views came out.

"Don’t a lot of times they can make more not working, with social programs, than they actually can with an entry-level job?” she asked.

"You don’t want people to get totally dependent on it. That’s when they get in trouble – ‘Why should I work? I got a few bucks, I got my room paid for.'” she added.

Her friends then worry that Jenner's "life in the bubble" may make it more difficult to understand other trans people's problems.

“Caitlyn has every right to be just as conservative as she chooses, but many transgender men and women need social programs to survive, and that’s nothing to be ashamed of,” one friend said in an interview.

“If Cait’s going to be a spokesperson for the community, this is something she’s going to have to understand.”
