Caitlyn Jenner Will Appear Nude With Gold Medal On Cover Of "Sports Illustrated"

"That was a great time in my life," says Jenner of her Olympic glory days.

While Caitlyn Jenner has begun a new chapter in her life, she doesn't want people to forget her accomplishments as a world class athlete.

The former Olympian will appear on a summer cover of Sports Illustrated, reports US Weekly, wearing nothing but an American flag and her gold medal.

The issue coincides with the 40th anniversary of Jenner setting a world decathlon record at the 1976 Montreal Summer Games. It's also her first time appearing with the Olympic medal since transitioning—previously she stashed it in the bottom of her makeup drawer.

“I never wanted my kids to feel like they had to have a gold medal in order to be considered a success," said Jenner, 66. "I didn’t want them to constantly compare their own achievements to my time in the Olympics, so I haven’t displayed my medal."

The reality star says she's proud of her Olympic accomplishments. "That was a great time in my life. But to be honest with you, it’s even a greater time in my life right now with what I’m trying to accomplish."

It's believed Jenner will be the first trans athlete on the magazine's cover.
