California Company Snatches Up Next Magazine, Frontiers

Multimedia Platforms is assembling a coast-to-coast gay media empire.

A new super-force is emerging in gay publishing: California-based Multimedia Platforms has just acquired Frontiers, the well-known LGBT magazine out of Los Angeles.

Multimedia Platforms CEO Bobby Blair also recently snatched up New York's Next magazine, and has ownership of the Florida Agenda, Guy magazine and FunMaps—giving them a foothold in the lucrative New York, L.A. and South Florida markets.

“Our combined resources allow us to double print circulation and grow our web traffic exponentially in 2016,” said Blair.

Frontiers Media’s current CEO, Michael Turner, will become president of Multimedia Platforms’ digital media and continue on as the publisher of Frontiers magazine.
