Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding, Kendrick Lamar Perform At Bacardi Triangle In The Caribbean
We just returned from seeing Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding and Kendrick Lamar bring the house down Halloween weekend in a private concert in the Caribbean. And while it's nice to be back in New York, we already miss the sun, the drinks and the music of the Bacardi Triangle.
I mean, who wouldn't want to be ensconced at Puerto Rico's five-star El Conquistador resort, enjoying pool parties and sick beats from international DJs? The real magic, though, happened Saturday night, when 1,862 journalists, industry insiders and contest winners were ferried to the private Caribbean island of Palomino for the big show.
Starting things off was Goulding, who recently started working on her third album. As expected, she's phenomenal live—performing hits like "Lights," "Anything Could Happen" and "Burn," in a way that made us fall in love with her all over again.
And she knew she was our champion: Between sets, Goulding joked, "I feel like a boxer in shorts," she joked.
After a much needed breather, Kendrick Lamar took the stage and drove the audience wild with scorching tracks like “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe,” “Swimming Pools (Drank)” and his A$AP Rocky collab “Fuckin’ Problems.”
Harris closed the show, giving us faves like "Summer" and "Blame," Kiesza’s “Hideaway,” Route 94’s “My Love” and “We Found Love,” which he wrote and produced for Rihanna. The entire set was electric—literally‚with spectacular lighting, confetti, streamers and smoke effects filling the tropical night. The only thing that could've made it better was if he had taken his shirt off! (It was hot enough!)
Harris' new album, Motion, drops today. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy.
