Campaign Attempting To "Nullify" SCOTUS Ruling On Same-Sex Marriage In Kentucky

"The U.S. Supreme Court created legal chaos by issuing an unconstitutional opinion."

Gary Cass of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission has launched a campaign to get Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin to nullify the Supreme Court's marriage equality ruling.

Right Wing Watch describes "nullification" as "the fringe idea that states have the right to annul federal directives that they believe are unconstitutional and/or unbiblical."

An ad addressing the recently-elected Bevin, who supported Kim Davis earlier this year, is urging him to "protect marriage and nullify the rogue Supreme Court opinion."

"Over 74% of Kentucky voters affirmed that marriage is the union of one man and one woman, but the U.S. Supreme Court created legal chaos by issuing an unconstitutional opinion," the ad says. "We need principled leadership now."

Bevin has already said that one of his first acts as governor will be to remove clerks’ names from marriage licenses.

Meanwhile, Cass feels confident that the ruling will be overturned by God either way.

"The good news is this ruling will ultimately be overturned," Cass said. "The real triune Supreme Court in Heaven has already ruled: marriage is a union of one man and one woman. We can confidently celebrate that which God has ordained because time and eternity are on our side."
