Candace Cameron Bure Open To Same-Sex Couples On “Fuller House”

"I'm always defending religious freedom...but, I'm an actress on a television show, and I support all things that we go through as human beings."

Although The View co-host Candace Cameron Bure is known for supporting “religious freedom” at the expense of LGBT people, she declared she wouldn’t be opposed to seeing gay storylines pop up on her upcoming Full House reboot.

Bure discussed the option of having same-sex couples on Fuller House while at a TCA event over the weekend.

“I’m always defending religious freedom and that’s what I was talking about on The View,” she said. “But, I’m an actress on a television show, and I support all things that we go through as human beings, and would love all our characters to explore whatever issues that are current in our culture and our society today, and I’m 100% on board with that.”

After producers teased that it was always a possibility that they could include a same-sex couple on the show in the future, all eyes were on Bure due to her conservative opinions on the matter.

Since joining The View last year, Bure has fallen under scrutiny for her arguments regarding the LGBT community.

She argued with co-host Raven Symone over the bakery that refused to make a lesbian couple’s wedding cake last summer, and was criticized over a seemingly-insensitive interview with Danny Pintauro when he appeared on the show to discuss his HIV diagnosis.
