Candis Cayne Reflects On Her Parents’ Reaction When She Came Out As Trans

"It was a monumental moment."

Actress Candis Cayne had a kiki with DJ and LGBT activist Lina Bradford on the second season premiere of her online talk show, In the Dollhouse With Lina.

During the interview the two play games and reminisce about partying around New York back in the ’90s—Lina even breaks out an old issue of New York’s weekly gay publication, Next magazine that they both were on the cover of back in the day.

Things also got real during a cootie catcher game when Lina asked her “sistrix” what was the best moment of her life so far.

“The day I told my parents that I was trans,” Candis answered. “They said: ’We are coming to New York to make sure you’re okay. We love you, we are always there for you.'”

“It was a monumental moment,” she added.

Even though Candis now lives in “Hellasia” (Los Angeles) her and Lina are still as close as can be. In the video Candis and Lina tell crazy stories (one involving trying to get their dogs through an airport X-ray machine) and Candis also talks about the beauty book she’s working on.

Stunning Nuptials ??????❤️? @candiscayne

I write about drag queens. Dolly Parton once ruffled my hair and said I was "just the cutest thing ever."
