Can't Get Hitched In Your City? Seattle Wants To Marry You For Free!

Seattle is ringing wedding bells for same-sex couples denied the right in their hometowns. Starting July 1, out-of-state LGBTQ couples can enter the Marry Me in Seattle contest to win one of four all-expense paid trips to Seattle. The city's mayor, Ed Murray, will officiate the first ceremony, scheduled for September 3.

“It’s an honor to be part of this campaign and I look forward to officiating at the ceremonies for the lucky couples who win wedding trips to Seattle," Murray said. "I appreciate the work Visit Seattle is doing to bring more out-of-town LGBTQ visitors to Seattle and the new ‘Marry Me in Seattle’ campaign is a great example of that work.”

These weddings — held on the first Wednesday of every month from September through December — will include air transportation, hotel, ceremonies and receptions at iconic Seattle venues. It's like a built-in honeymoon, thus killing two birds with one romantic stone.
