Cardi B Loves And Supports Her Queer Sister Hennessy Carolina

Cardi B's little sis has been with her girlfriend, Mel, for more than a year.

Long-time fans of Cardi B know the rapper has an adorable relationship with younger sister Hennessy Carolina. Well, Hennessy is into women, and she's had a girlfriend for more than a year.

The luck lady's name is Mel, and Hennessy celebrated her birthday last week on Facebook.

Despite some homophobic nonsense posted in the comment section, the couple seems to be super-happy.

Cardi B has been stanning for her sis for a while now, and taking on the haters directly.

Hennessy recently told BET that she fell for Mel on Instagram, despite having never dated women before and not even necessarily looking for love at the time.

“That’s my number one thing I tell people: Be patient, because love comes to you naturally," said the 21-year-old. "Once you look for it, you choose the wrong person. Everything happens naturally, people come into your life when you’re ready. When it’s meant to be, it’s destined for it to happen, so you’re going to meet The One, one day. Don’t look for it. It’ll just come, because that happened to me a lot of times. Not a lot, but those few times I was in a relationship I never looked for it. It just happened naturally, and they were pretty good relationships.”

Hennessy said that after she saw Mel, she thought to herself, "I would never do that." But she decided, "You know what? I want this person."

"I actually like that I did the first move," said Carolina, "It’s hard, because I don’t know people’s real intentions nowadays, but as of right now I’m OK, I guess, because I feel like I found someone.”

Hennesey shared that she just wants the "American dream."

"I always wanted two kids, obviously a girl and a boy, but now I’m thinking about it and now that I have a girlfriend, and the person you’re with, you plan a future with them, so you have to start opening up more," she said. "So now, you know, since in the lesbian community or whatever, it’s harder for women to have babies, so you have to do the egg transplant, a sperm donor and all of that, so originally I wanted two kids, but now I want four. Two to look like me, and two to look like her, a boy and a girl. She carries two and I carry two. Two that look like me and two that look like her, a boy and a girl."

Even though she's raising some eyebrows from fans who first met her as Cardi B's kid sister on Love & Hip Hop, she's not worried about anyone's ideas but her own.

"To be honest, I just do things based on, just, like, me," she said. "I don’t really think about the reactions, but then sometimes it really hurts me when I’m just being myself and people are being, like, so mean about it. It’s like I’m not you. I’m not who you want me to be, I’m myself. Stop trying to change me.”

As for her relationship with Cardi, whose single "Bodak Yellow" is helping to make her a household name, Hennessy says they grew up together and they have "no choice but to always be close."

"We get along, we’re best friends," she told BET. "Sometimes we used to fight for mascara but it’s OK. That’s what sisters do.”
