Carrie Fisher Has Been Cremated And Her Ashes Will Be Buried Alongside Debbie Reynolds

A private memorial will be held on January 5.

Burial plans for Hollywood icons Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher have been revealed, according to a report from Entertainment Tonight.

Fisher has been cremated and some of her ashes will be buried next to her mother, Reynolds at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in L.A.

A private memorial service for Reynolds and Fisher is being held today, January 5, but a public memorial will take place in a few months with celebrities like Tom Hanks, Fisher's ex-husband, Paul Simon and Meryl Streep paying their respects and honoring the legendary duo.

On Friday, December 23, Fisher went into cardiac arrest about 15 minutes before landing on a flight from London to Los Angeles. Once on the ground, an unresponsive Fisher was taken to UCLA Medical Center and placed on a ventilator. She passed away the following Tuesday.

Her mother, Reynolds suffered a stroke the following day and also passed. Fisher's brother, Todd told TMZ that Reynolds' final words were: "I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie."
