Catherine Zeta-Jones Is A Badass Bisexual "Cocaine Godmother" In New Lifetime Biopic

“I’ve tried not to homogenize her or find a sympathetic quality, because I don’t think she had one,” says Zeta-Jones.

Lifetime's got another campy biopic for us to enjoy in Cocaine Godmother, starring Catherine Zeta-Jones as Miami drug kingpin Griselda Blanco, who was heavily involved in the U.S.-Colombia drug trade in the 1970s and '80s.

Blanco was bisexual and, based on the new trailer, the made-for-TV-movie makes sure to include her interest in women.

Godmother shows how Blanco, who predates El Chapo and Pablo Escobar, hid bricks of cocaine in ladies shoes, underwear, and corsets, and orchestrated up to 200 murderes. She was eventually nabbed the DEA in 1985 and imprisoned until 2004. She returned to Colombia but was shot and murdered in September 2012, just seven months after signing over the rights to her story.

“I’ve tried not to homogenize her or find a sympathetic quality, because I don’t think she had one,” Zeta-Jones said at Cannes last month. “There’s something fantastic about how she was the boss in a dangerous man’s world. You gotta give it to her.”

As for Blanco's sexual interests, court documents detail an interest in "bisexual orgies," as well as violent sex, including forcing both men and women to perform sex acts on her at gunpoint.

Zeta-Jones doesn't exactly resemble Blanco, but she says she did her best to nail her essence.

“I gained weight, I was hunched over," she said at Cannes. "If I had balls, I’d have grabbed them from time to time. I wanted to let it all hang out. She thought she was beautiful. She was the movie star starring in her own movie. She didn’t give a shit.”
