Caveboy Is Back With "I Wonder," This Summer's Ultimate Queer Bop

The Canadian pop trio gives NewNowNext the exclusive on their latest track, "I Wonder."

Caveboy might not be a household name in America yet, but you'll want to add this eclectic indie pop trio to your summer playlist ASAP.

Based in Montréal, Canada, Caveboy consists of guitarist and vocalist Michelle "Minty" Bensimon, bassist Isabelle Banos, and drummer Lana Cooney—all women, all queer-identified or vocal allies to the LGBTQ community. The band's music is infectiously catchy, blending '80s-style synth tracks with sweet lyrics and even sweeter harmonies.

Lucky for us, Caveboy is giving NewNowNext readers the exclusive scoop on the band's latest single, "I Wonder," a more pensive follow-up to "Landslide," the upbeat earworm the trio dropped this March.

"'I Wonder' is about questioning," Bensimon, Banos, and Cooney tell NewNowNext about the new track. "It’s about the feeling of losing something you’ve been holding onto for so long—suddenly realizing that you’re not the same as you were, that the story is over, you’re left to rebuild yourself but you don’t know where to start."

The trio adds that "I Wonder" is just the beginning for Caveboy's upcoming release schedule—and that fans should keep their eyes peeled for more singles in advance of the band's debut studio album. A tour schedule is in the works, too, and the group "can’t wait to explore and bring our music to new cities."

We can't wait, either.

Listen to "I Wonder" below, and stay up-to-date on Caveboy's whereabouts on Instagram.
