Chaka Khan Says the Gays Are Her Most Loyal Fans

"If it weren't for the children, I would not be here."

From Dolly Parton to Toni Braxton, the female icons were out at the Grammys on Sunday night (February 10). One music legend took the time to speak to GLAAD about her enduring career and loyal LGBTQ following.

"If it weren't for the children, I would not be here," Khan, 65, says of her gay fan base. "[They're] the most faithful audience I have."

The "Ain't Nobody" singer also offered a few simple words of advice to the community.

"People who are tripping about something that someone else is doing it's because they have a problem," she says. "Be your damn self. Just be yourself."

Can I get an "Amen?"
