It’s official: Cher is a “dancing queen.”

Yesterday, the pop icon tweeted out a tease of the first single, “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight), from her upcoming ABBA covers album, and now Warner Bros. records has announced that Cher’s new album is called Dancing Queen, and will be out September 28.

“I’ve always liked ABBA and saw the original Mamma Mia musical on Broadway three times,” Cher said in a statement. “After filming Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, I was reminded again of what great and timeless songs they wrote and started thinking ‘why not do an album of their music?’ The songs were harder to sing than I imagined but I’m so happy with how the music came out. I’m really excited for people to hear it. It’s a perfect time.”

The new collection of songs was recorded in London and L.A. and was produced by Mark Taylor, who previously worked with her on her worldwide hit 1998 single “Believe” *cue gay screaming*.

I write about drag queens. Dolly Parton once ruffled my hair and said I was "just the cutest thing ever."
