Cher Turns Back Time With Stunning Billboard Music Awards Performance
Sunday's Billboard Music Awards were all about Cher, who accepted the night's Icon Award with a pair of powerful performances that proved the 71-year-old diva's still the best in the game.
To start off the night, the living legend performed her 1998 hit "Believe" all while decked out in a daring, glittery two piece and matching platinum wig.
Not one to be outdone even by herself, when she re-entered for her second performance, the singer had swapped out the all white outfit for the black bikini and leather jacket made famous in the music video for "Turn Back Time."
Looking completely snatched, she then turned out a jaw-dropping performance of the 1989 classic.
Once the audience had gathered its collective jaw from the floor, Cher delivered a heartwarming and funny acceptance speech thanking her fans and family for their support throughout her career.
"I've wanted to do what I do since I was four-years-old and I've been doing it for 53 years," she said. "That's not an applause thing, I'm 71 yesterday and I can do a five-minute plank, just saying."
"I want to thank my mom," she continued. "When I was really young my mom said, 'You’re not going to be the smartest, you’re not going to be the prettiest. You’re not going to be the most talented. But you’re going to be special.' And then when I met Sonny [Bono], he said the same thing. And there was really nothing about me that led anyone [else] to believe that I was going to be special."
